Our Two Days in Seaside

A week ago, the (big) kids and I made the last minute decision to road trip over to Seaside (about 1.5hr away) and visit some of my college girlfriends who were in town for Spring Break.

The weather had been beautiful and my Mom offered to keep the baby for one night and I just couldn’t help but be spontaneous and hit the road to the beach with the kids.  We were staying at my childhood best friends family house that have owned two houses in Seaside since the very beginning of 30A’s existence {practically :)}!  They were so smart to get in early and have two fabulous houses in the Seagrove area.  If you are ever looking to rent, here are both houses.  They each have their pros.

Get To the Point Lake House (4 bedrooms, short walk to the beach)

Looney Dunes  (3 bedrooms, right on the beach)

We arrived to town around lunch time and we hit up the 30A Seaside circle for a little bit and did some quick shopping!  Seaside Style has so many cute things and the kids wanted a new Seaside t-shirt!  They have a separate shop just for the kids stuff and it’s all so cute!

After we shopped, we headed to my girlfriends house and changed into our swim suits to head to the beach.  The water was not as pretty as it normally is this trip and close to their Lake House there is a small ravine that connects from the Lake to the Ocean.   The water looked terrible, but it was really shallow and the kids had a blast playing in it.

After our beach time, we re-grouped at the house and we were lucky enough to score some Club Watercolor passes for the day from her Uncle.  This new club at Watercolor that just opened in March has two slides (one small for young kids and one big one) with two separate pools, a bar area, and a nice size lazy river!!  When you own or rent in Watercolor, you get access to these facilities.

The kids had a blast and rode the small slide no less than 80 times each.

3 Moms with our combined 8 children 🙂 actually 7 since I left Molly at home!

They also have a nice playground just next to the pools for the kids to play on as well.

We headed home for showers and then called in George’s at Alys Beach to pickup for dinner after we put all the kids to bed.  It was nice to catch up for a little bit and then head to bed early!

We beat all the crowds on Thursday morning to the Seaside square and grabbed coffee, muffins and waffles from Modica Market.

We headed back to the house for a little swim time at the pool and let the kids play together a little longer.

It was times for my friends to pack up and get on their way home and I was super excited because it turned out that Liz from Pure Joy Home was staying with her family less than 2 blocks away from our house!  We headed over to their place to meet them and Liz was just as sweet and precious as you would imagine if you follow her on IG.  Her family is absolutely adorable (the kids were too busy playing to jump in a photo) and her and Brian were so welcoming and generous!   She shares the cutest fashion (check out her amazing bathing suit recs recently) and lots of family, travel, home, and recipes.  I love all the variety.

The drive home both of the kids crashed.  It was barely over a 24 hour trip but we fit SOO much in and it was so worth it!  I love escaping with these two and hope to have plenty more adventures.
