I spent a long weekend with college girlfriends earlier this month in Charleston and we absolutely ate, drank and shopped our way through this fabulous city. We stayed in a three bedroom unit at Sullivan, 71 Wentworth, which was on the corner of Wentworth and King St. The location was perfect just off King St. and we loved having all the space together.
A few of the girls that made it in town early enough grabbed lunch at 167 raw which was incredible. We ordered a lot of everything and just shared it all.
For dinner, we had an incredible experience at Hall’s Chophouse. We all will remember the kindest waiter for coming back to our table after we had been sipping on our martins and ask us if we would like a re-shake?? Meaning, could he re-shake our martini with some ice to chill it again for us. Yes, please!
The next day we went exploring King St. and popped in and out of hotels to check them all out. We loved the bar at Hotel Bennett and then hit up Leon’s for lunch. Once again, we ordered just about everything and split it all and it was mouth-watering.
After a little more walking around after lunch, we hit the rooftop bar, Citrus Club, at the top of the Dewberry hotel. What a gorgeous view and fabulous place for cocktails.
Dinner was Post House Inn which was a first for me and so worth it!! I think it was the salmon dip that I went crazy over, but everything was incredible.
Just so that we could try and feel cool and young again, we stopped into Henry’s Bar and took a stroll through all floors of the bar. I am not sure that it did anything but make us feel older, ha!
The next day was game day and since we are all Florida Gators, we had to make sure we could catch some of the Gator game somewhere. We had brunch at SNOB and then walked along the water before stepping into Blind Tiger to check out all the people tailgating for game day.
We shopped some of my favorite stores: Lake Pajamas, Minnow, Julia Amory, and Hill House.
We decided to go to Charleston Place to catch the Gator game at Meeting on Market sports bar. It worked out perfect.
We had heard about the cute new bar La Cave and stopped in for fancy cocktails before heading to dinner at Melfi’s that I was so excited for! The pizza and pasta at Melfi’s was unbelievable!
Most of the girls had to hit the road early to head home but Cassie and I had a late flight out. We were able to snag one more fun lunch before we left. We went to Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island and loved it. I loved using this Charleston Bag Valet service on our last day when we had to check out of our condo, but still had many hours before our flight. They pick up your bags for you and meet you with them at airport when you’re ready for your flight.
Charleston is such an amazing city full of fabulous food, great shopping, gorgeous hotels and beautiful streets to stroll. It’s a wonderful destination to explore with girlfriends, couples or families.
