Summer Camp Care Package Ideas They’ll Actually Love

The Ultimate Guide to Sending a Little Piece of Home to Camp

There is something so sweet about sending your child off to summer camp. They leave excited for new adventures, lifelong friendships, and memories they’ll talk about for years. But if you’re anything like me, you also spend the first few days wondering how they’re doing, if they’re sleeping well, and if they’ve remembered to change their socks!

One of my favorite ways to stay connected while still letting camp work its magic is by sending a thoughtful care package. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over-the-top. In fact, the best care packages are filled with practical items, favorite snacks, fun surprises, and little reminders that home is cheering them on.  If they won’t be at camp for long, you can also pack a few things and hide it in their trunk to open during the week.

Here are some of my favorite summer camp care package ideas that are guaranteed to make your camper smile.

These become keepsakes long after camp is over.

Some favorites are:

  • Customized water bottle stickers
  • Name decals
  • Monogrammed towel
  • Camp pillowcase

A Few Care Package Tips

  • Mail it a few days before camp begins so it arrives during the first week.
  • Don’t overload the box. Campers have limited storage space.
  • Include practical items.
  • Write a personal note. That’s usually their favorite part.
  • Label everything if you’re sending reusable items.

Remember…

The goal isn’t to make your child miss home more—it’s to remind them that home is cheering them on while they’re off making incredible memories.

One thoughtful package filled with favorite snacks, a few useful supplies, and an encouraging note can completely make their week.

Happy packing, and here’s to another unforgettable summer at camp!
