In 2025, travel became the rhythm of our family’s year—a thoughtful mix of mountain air, island time, and city energy. From snowy mornings in Deer Valley and Aspen to sun-washed days in St. Barths, the Abacos, Eleuthera, and Kamalame Cay, each destination offered its own kind of pause and perspective. We balanced barefoot luxury with family tradition, spontaneous moments with carefully chosen stays—Evermore Resort, Rosewood Baha Mar, and weekends anchored by places we return to again and again.
There were iconic experiences woven in, too: the electric energy of the US Open in New York City, a celebratory girls’ birthday weekend in the city that never sleeps, and grounding escapes to Jackson Hole and the quiet elegance of the Henderson in Destin. This post is a reflection on where we went in 2025—and how these places, near and far, shaped our family’s memories in ways both big and beautifully ordinary. Here’s a highlight reel of our adventures!

Potlatch Club, Eleuthera
A romantic getaway to the Potlatch Club in Eleuthera, a newly reopened luxury boutique resort with a rich history as a former private residence visited by celebrities. Nestled on French Leave Beach, the resort combines historical charm with tropical elegance, featuring 11 accommodations, a spa, restaurant, bar, and gym. We relaxed in a beachfront cottage, enjoyed private hammocks, sipped cocktails by the ocean, and explored the island through local tours, including a memorable boat adventure with Fishbone Tours. Dining options include the on-site Fig Tree and nearby local spots like Tippy’s and 1648. Kamalame Cay, Andros Bahamas
Kamalame Cay was a special place that got put on my radar by our travel agent, Melanie, a few years back. It is located in the Bahamas off the larger island of Andros. Kamalame Cay is 3.5 miles long and privately owned and considered exclusive because it is not easy to get to! It has 19 bungalows on property available for rent plus private residences. You get around the entire island by bikes or golf carts which was my kids favorite part! This spot is beautiful barefoot luxury with wonderful service, two small restaurants to dine at and a boaters paradise. We loved the boat excursions for fishing and some of the best snorkeling we’ve done. Andros is actually home to the 3rd largest barrier reef in the world. It was a fun and unique island to check out for our family.
Rosewood Baha Mar
This was part two of our Summer trip after hitting Kamalame Cay. We had to fly through Nassau to get to Kamalame Cay, so on the way back we stopped for a few nights at Baha Mar and met up with our friends. It was the perfect end to our trip where everyone enjoyed a little more action than the more quiet feel at Kamalame Cay. We took on the waterpark at Baha Mar, chartered a fishing boat, and enjoyed all the restaurants they had to offer on property. Full Blog Post and our Baha Mar travel guide.
US Open, New York City
A recap of our trip to New York City over Labor Day weekend to attend the US Open tennis tournament. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, enjoyed a late lunch at coastal Italian spot Marea, and saw the Broadway show Buena Vista Social Club. The next day, we secured last-minute Louis Armstrong Stadium tickets through Stubhub and spent over 10 hours watching multiple exciting matches, with seats just two rows back from the players. Evenings included dinner at Four Twenty Five Park Restaurant and Bar Pitti, cocktails at Sip & Guzzle, and a final brunch at La Grand Boucherie. The trip combined tennis, dining, Broadway, and family time in a fun, fast-paced NYC weekend. Full Blog Post
Girls’ Weekend in NYC
We traveled to New York City in September to celebrate the my daughter’s 10th birthday and a friend’s daughter’s 12th birthday. We stayed at the Trump Tower Columbus Circle, where the girls were surprised with themed balloons. Their weekend included shopping around Columbus Circle and the Upper East Side, dining at Harry Cipriani’s, St. Regis, and La Palma, and exploring NYC landmarks such as Central Park, Times Square, Top of the Rock, and the Statue of Liberty via a sunset boat tour. We also enjoyed unique kid-focused experiences, including a VIP FAO Schwarz visit, the Jellycat Café, the Mamma Mia brunch show at Stardust Café, and a horse-drawn carriage ride. The trip blended sightseeing, shopping, shows, and special birthday celebrations, creating a memorable first NYC experience for the girls. Full Blog Post
Jackson Hole
Details of our five-day trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, over Veterans Day weekend to celebrate an 80th and 30th birthday with family. Visiting during the off-season, we enjoyed mild crowds, sunny weather, and scenic views while staying in a three-bedroom townhome downtown. Our itinerary included exploring Jackson Hole’s shops, dining at local favorites like Trio Bistro, Gather, Hatch Mexican, and Café Genevieve, and touring Teton Village and the Jackson Hole ski mountain area. Highlights included a sunrise wildlife tour through Teton National Park, hiking the Taggart Lake loop, and soaking in the natural Astoria Hot Springs. The trip balanced outdoor adventure, shopping, dining, and relaxation, and I highly recommend visiting Jackson Hole in the fall or spring for a quieter, enjoyable experience with plenty of activities and beautiful scenery. Aspen
Our three-night adult-only Aspen getaway in mid-December was packed with skiing, dining, and après-ski fun. Staying at the centrally located Independence Square Hotel, we enjoyed easy access to Aspen Mountain, Highlands Mountain, and nearby ski areas. Despite early-season conditions limiting some runs, we made the most of skiing, including a wild champagne-spraying experience at Cloud Nine on Highlands Mountain. Evenings were spent sampling Aspen’s vibrant food and drink scene at spots like the French Alpine Bistro, Caribou Club, Cache Cache, Jing, and Hotel Jerome. The trip also included local festivals, bonfires, fireworks, and scenic mountain views, leaving the group with cherished memories. Aspen is ideal for a short, active getaway filled with skiing, nightlife, and upscale dining, with shopping opportunities left for another visit. Full Blog Post
Rosemary Beach
We rang in the last day of 2025 in one of our favorite places close to home, Rosemary Beach. We rented a house with two other families and enjoyed bike rides, morning walks to our favorite Charlies Donuts, an outing to Top Golf and lots of time hanging as a group. This was our first time spending NYE in Rosemary or anywhere on 3oA and we were pretty shocked how crowded it was considering it was “off season” for them. I don’t have a full blog post for this trip but you can find all of our Rosemary Beach trips here.
