Mother Daughter Nashville Trip | Madelyn’s 6th Birthday

Madelyn turned SIX this year and she decided that instead of a birthday party, she wanted to take a trip to an American Girl doll store.  We no longer have a store even within a 5 hour drive of us, so we decided to plan a Mother-Daughter weekend trip to Nashville to celebrate and go to the AG store.  We booked a direct flight on Southwest Airlines and we spent two nights in Nashville.

I had never been to Nashville before, so I was so excited to explore.  I knew we had to stay at the Graduate hotel while we were there because it was so pink and girly thanks to Dolly Parton!!

We got to Nashville late on Thursday evening – just in time to check in and run to our reservation at Pinewood Social.  This was a fun warehouse type spot that had a good restaurant and then the back part of the restaurant was actually a bowling alley.  The girls ended up scoring a lane for a little bit at the end of dinner while the Mom’s visited 😉

Of course on our very first morning, we had to get dress and take our dolls to the American girl doll store.  We hopped in an Uber XL and took it to the mall where our doll hair appointments were.

The girls got their dolls hair done, shopped around for awhile and oooed and ahhed over all the stuff.  The mall itself didn’t have much us that we wanted to do, so we hopped in another Uber and took it to lunch at the Restoration Hardware restaurant!! That was so much fun and sooo gorgeous.

After lunch, we headed back to the hotel to chill for a little bit and check out the rooftop.

One of my childhood best friends lives in Nashville and she was kind enough to lend us her nanny for the evening and the girls had a fun dinner with her and played with their new AG doll stuff and rented a movie while the Mama’s went out for the evening.

We went upstairs to White Limozeen first, the rooftop bar at our hotel.  It is a happening spot that we wanted to check out.  We snagged a few seats at the bar and had fun catching up for a bit before our dinner reservation at Henley.

And because we’re not just any Mom’s, we’re cool Mom’s; we ended up on Broadway after dinner because I had never been before and my friend used to live in Nashville and had to show us the ropes!! All the live music was fun and so was the people watching!

The next morning we met my childhood friend and her girls over at Five Sisters Bakery in the 12 South area where we could walk around and shop a bit after breakfast.

We shopped around 12 South for awhile and then grabbed some lunch at Bartaco before grabbing a ride back to our hotel.  We played on the rooftop of the hotel for a little longer and then it was time to grab our bags and get ready to head home!!    ** You may have read that we were trying to go to High Tea on Saturday at the Hermitage hotel.  Unfortunately, we were never able to get in.  I would suggest making reservations for that plenty early!

It was seriously one of the BEST weekends with these little girls that I hope they remember forever.  We were sad to head home and felt like Nashville had so much more to offer. I can’t wait to go back again another time!

While the girls were playing in Nashville, the boys were on a fishing/football trip in New Orleans! Brody was having the time of his life in a box at the Saints game!!!
