Mother Daughter Weekend in New Orleans

We spent a Mother-Daughter weekend in New Orleans while the boys were off having some fun fishing.  April/May is such a pretty time to visit New Orleans (we got married in April in New Orleans!) and we had the BEST time! We showed the girls all around the city in the short 48 hours we were there.  My Mom has a little one bedroom studio in uptown New Orleans which is where we stayed.  We brought a blow-up mattress for the girls and they were happy as can be!

We headed to dinner at Gautreau’s on our first night there. It is so cute nestled in the residential streets of uptown New Orleans.  The best part was that we were able to walk from our house to the restaurant.  The girls still talk about the pasta they had for dinner that night and they were pretty excited about their banana split!

We took the girls a few blocks away to the French Truck for breakfast and coffee. We ended up here every morning of our trip. I love this little spot so much and we could sit outside.

After breakfast, we headed to meet my friend Meredith and her daughter at Story Land in City Park. It is a cute little area for the kids to explore and has some interactive things for them to do.

These cute little friends 🙂

Train ride through City Park

After Storyland and our train ride around City Park, we headed to the Children’s Museum.  Unfortunately, the museum was still closed from COVID, but they had a really cute little restaurant that we had lunch at.  The new children’s museum looks incredible, I definitely want to go back and check it out!

After lunch, we headed for a little shopping and snow balls with the girls!

For dinner, Courtney and I borrowed a babysitter from my friend Meredith and headed to dinner at the new restaurant at the Chloe boutique hotel uptown! It’s super chic and so fun.  The pool area and outdoor bar scene looked like a blast.  We had a nice dinner inside and loved checking out the new spot.

On our last day, we were hoping to snag a reservation for a high tea at the Windsor Court, but they were completely booked.   So we took the girls to the New Orleans Aquarium and then it was time to hit the road home.

We had so much fun on our short little weekend in New Orleans. There is always so much to see and do in this city.  I can’t wait to go back again soon!

The boys were living their best life too for the weekend.  They had a fishing trip planned to Lake Seminole outside of Tallahassee for the weekend which is why we planned our New Orleans girls trip 🙂  They rented a cabin for the weekend and fished lake seminole, sat by the fire, and had boy time!
