Our Favorite Travel Games for Kids

My kids are now nine, seven and four and I would say it’s pretty fun to be able to play games with them and especially now that we get to play a few more grown up games!  I thought it would be fun to round up some of our very favorite games that we have been enjoying lately and all that are easy to pack in a suitcase for travel or in a backpack for dinner out with kids.

Travel Game Favorites

Rack-O – This is one of our newest family games and we all fell in love with it over Christmas break!  This is great for adults and my seven and nine year old love it.

Old Maid – This one is great for ages four and up I would say! I love this one because all three of my kids can play this and they can play all by themselves.  These card holders are great to use for this game if you have smaller kids.

Go Fish – Another simple game just like Old Maid and is great for young kids.

Travel Rummikub  – We taught our seven and nine year old this game about 6 months ago and we have all been pretty addicted to it.  This is a great game to bring on vacation.

Eye Found It Disney – This one is cute for young kids and one we will bring out to dinner sometimes to keep the kids entertained.

Uno – Need to say much? Always popular among the kids.

Charades for Kids – This one comes in a travel case and easy for the kids to play together. They have icons on the cards too for the kids that don’t know how to read yet.

Take N Play Bingo and Matching – These are magnetic and we’ve been using them for years.  They are great for airplanes or out to eat.

Fidget Tetris – Fidgets are still all the rage… I love a game of Tetris.

Yahtzee To-Go – This travel set comes with score cards folded up in the travel container.

Left Right Center – A great game for the whole family and super easy to pack in your suit case.

Kids Table Topics To-Go – My kids have really enjoyed them and are great to get conversations going.  ChickfilA did a collaboration with these for their happy meals and I wish we had saved more of them because they were the perfect little traveling cases.

Dominoes To Go – This is an easy family game for all ages.

Genius Square – We’ve had this for a little over a year and I love it so much! It is kind of like a Tetris style game too and you see who can complete the square first.

Roll Up Backgammon Game – I love that they make this in an easy roll up case that you can travel with or take to the pool even.

Bananagrams – Simple carry case and great for kids that can read and spell.

Scrabble To Go  – If you love scrabble, you have to grab the travel case!

These are just a few simple items to pack to keep entertained while traveling:

Wiki Sticks | Paint by Stickers | Card Holders (for little hands) | Ooly Art Supplies

I hope these are helpful to you! Our favorite games to play at home right now are Rack-O, Rummikub, and Dominoes.  What are some of your favorite games??  We always love adding new ones to the list!
