Our Weekend in Alys Beach

We spent this past weekend in Alys Beach on 30A with two other couples to celebrate Matt’s birthday!! We lucked out with the most gorgeous weekend and the perfect weather.  We have always stayed in Rosemary Beach (a neighboring community) and never actually stayed in Alys before, so we were so excited to try it out.  Alys has grown a lot in the last few years with new shops, restaurants and amenity centers all within its tiny community.

It also happened to be the Alys Beach wine festival this weekend while we were here and although we knew it was going on, we didn’t have any tickets for it and the event was sold out.  We toured property and had fun watching them get set up and decorate for each of the events they were hosting for the wine festival.

We rented a 3 bedroom house on the North side of 30A.   It was this house 56 N. Charles Street. It was very spacious and I loved the location.  We could easily walk to Raw & Juicy and Fonville Press for coffee and breakfast along with several of their other shops and restaurants.

Friday evening when we all arrived, we drove down to Rosemary beach to have dinner at Gallion’s.  This is a newer restaurant in Rosemary and I have loved my meal both times that we have eaten here.  They have a really nice bar here too with some delicious craft cocktails.

Saturday morning everyone woke up at their leisure and grabbed coffees, walked biked or went to breakfast.  A few of us also went to play a round of tennis!  It was a beautiful day.

After exploring, we went to George’s in Alys Beach to grab some lunch and we ran into my Aunt, Uncle and cousins from New Orleans that were in town for the weekend!  It was so much fun to see them.

After lunch we biked down to the Pearl and had some spa treatments and then hung out at the pool and hot tub for awhile.  It was such a pretty day and was fun to hang at the Pearl pool because we have never actually stayed at the Pearl hotel either.

After our treatments and relaxing pool side, it was time to rush back home and shower and get ready for dinner.  We had dinner reservations at the Citizen in Alys Beach.

We had drinks before dinner at Neat which is in Alys Beach as well and has great cocktails.

Sunday morning was another beautiful day and we went to one of my favorite little casual breakfast spots in Rosemary Beach called Summer Kitchen.  They have my favorite little breakfast wraps.  I highly recommend them.

Sunday afternoon we ended up scoring tickets to one of the wine festival events called Rose and Croquet.  It was a pretty day and a fun event.  They actually had croquet teams that were signed up ahead of time and had a whole tournament during the event.  Then the rest of the people tasted Rose and had bites of food from local establishments.

Sunday evening we celebrated Matt’s birthday at dinner at Pescado which is a long time favorite of ours in Rosemary Beach.

Monday morning it was time to check out and hit the road.  It was so pretty and I didn’t want to leave at all! We took a tour of the property of Alys Beach and truly fell in love with what they have to offer.  It is a gorgeous development and made for a wonderful trip.

I had so much fun packing for the weekend bringing all my favorite bright colors. Here’s a few items I packed for the trip.
