Scenes from our Weekend | Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  I always look forward to this weekend because it is truly the kick-off to summer which makes me so giddy and excited for the months ahead!!
I started the first half of the Memorial Day weekend in Montgomery for my adorable niece’s high school graduation!   We were all so proud of her and excited to watch her walk across that stage!
Brody was fun to keep entertained as the service was at 7pm which is not his finest hours, but we made it through and then ran in the grass outside to let out some energy.

On our way out of town, we stopped at the Cracker Barrel for brunch and Brody loved it.  I love this picture of him because it shows off this mouth full of teeth he has now!

We spent the second half of the weekend in Destin.  We had planned for the whole family to be in Destin on Sunday for a boat trip.  My Dad had two requests that he always made clear for when he passed: he wanted to be cremated and he wanted half his ashes in the Destin jetties (rocks in the Gulf where we used to snorkel for years and years) and the top of Aspen mountain where he has skied for every year since he was in college.  So we took half his ashes and spread them at the jetties.  It was a brief moment, but so moving and emotional.  It was wonderful to be surrounded by family.
The babies immediately fell asleep as soon as we got on the boat.  They loved the noise and the rocking of the boat.
Sunday evening we attempted to celebrate Dad’s life at his favorite Destin restaurant, Marina Cafe.  Unfortunately, the two babies didn’t allow that to happen too well, so we didn’t last long.  I snagged this one picture of my Brother and I before we had to go.
Monday was really spent being pretty lazy around the house.  We ordered in Italian and tried to snap a few cute pictures of the cousins dressed up in their Memorial Day outfits and called it an early night.
Back to reality…Check back tomorrow for some outfit updates, my favorite new dress, and a little surprise 😉
