Kids clothes is definitely one of my biggest weaknesses. I am obsessed. I love new born clothes and toddler styles and I love them all matching! I love lace and smocking and all things seersucker and Southern! This post has been a long time coming. I have finally gathered my favorites in one post for you with photos of the kids wearing them. I hope this is helpful.

The Beaufort Bonnet Company

If you have been around this blog for any time, then you know we are pretty obsessed with all things TBBC! It is everything from their clothes, to swimwear to pajamas and everything in between! They even make the most precious matching dolly and me clothes. They have the sweetest newborn clothes and accessories and then also keep their kids clothes up to size 12 I think which is awesome!

Little English

This classic shop is one of my very favorites. I love the styles for girls and little boys up to about age 6. I am so sad that Brody has recently grown out of most of their clothes. They have great matching sibling set options too! One of my favorite things from them is the quilted luggage. All the kids have a set, they machine wash and have long straps that make them easy to carry.

Feltman Brothers

It doesnt get more classic and beautiful than Feltman Brothers. I especially shopped here when my kids were babies. Everything melted me but the day gowns were my absolute favorite. The knit pieces like the one below is a close second!

Alice Kathleen

You can find Alice Kathleen online but they also do trunk shows around the South which his how I learned about the brand. You can now find a lot of these items brand new with tags but at second hand prices on www.shopbagsy.com. I highly recommend shopping for these items there.

Hanna Anderson

This is definitely a favorite for pajamas that literally last forever! The quality is amazing and they always have the cutest holiday sets! They make them for adults too!

The Proper Peony

This brand has some of the most beautiful dresses that we own. The quality is amazing and they make the most precious items. These are typically investment pieces but if you were every interested in resale, they hold their value really well!

Elizabeth Layne Heirloom

I can’t do a family photo shoot without these anymore. I am so obsessed with these heirlooms and they are something to pass down to your children! They are so beautiful and wonderful to work with.

Petite Plume

Super cute pajamas for the whole family! So many cute styles.

Lake Pajamas

The softest and best jammies for both kids and adults! I love these so much and was so happy when they started making them for children.

Dondolo

Beautiful sibling sets and classic styles for boys. Finding handsome boy clothes as they get older can be so hard, but Dondolo does a great job!

So many cute clothes for a great price. They have great holiday options and typically do sales by release dates, so stay in the know with them on social media!

Smocked Auctions

This is probably the store I shopped at the most with Brody. They were one of the first to start auction sales on Instagram. It was wild and amazing when I think about it! Great quality and prices with tons to choose from.

Lilly Pulitzer

If you have a little girl, these matching Mommy and me clothes will melt ya!

Minnow Swim

My favorite swim line of all! They make the best shorts for boys that are not too long and big and they make the most adorable matching or coordinating swim for kids! Now they are releasing more and more clothes and I’m obsessed with it all!

Before Minnow, I was the most obsessed with this brand. They have the most adorable swimwear for kids too!! They run small, size up one or two sizes.

Happy Saturday, friends!! Phew, what a busy week it has been. I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving and then maybe a little Black Friday shopping! I know we have and to make things busier, we pulled out all of our Christmas decorations! I have this romper and I wasn’t sure if it would fit me well, but I love it. The tie front helps hide my “mother’s pouch” and I think it’s quite flattering.

Tie Waist Ikat Romper

I really prefer not to have prints on rompers for myself because I think they are a little less flattering, but I went with this one and I really like it. The linen material is light weight which is nice.

Gap Soft Spun Knit Romper

I ordered one of these and haven’t received it yet. I’m thinking it will be more of a romper for me to wear around the house when we are bumming around, but maybe it will surprise me! It’s knit so I know it will be very cozy.

Tips for Hosting a Trunk Show

There are lots of different types of trunk shows out there. I’m going to be discussing a trunk show for baby clothes, but a lot of these same concepts apply to any trunk show that you might host.

I hosted my first trunk show this past weekend and I made sure to do a little research before I “set up shop.”

Here are my best tips:

+ Get an idea of what you are displaying or how much you are displaying before the “trunk” arrives – I knew that there would be a lot of bonnets on display with my trunk show because the company is called The Beaufort Bonnet Company. I wanted to brainstorm the best way to display all those bonnets before they actually arrived.

+ Organize your lists of guests about 3 weeks before your trunk show- You can do this with pen and paper or create a group with your e-mail account. Send out postcards to your guests if you have them and be sure to send out an email invitation as well. Be sure to encourage your invites to bring along a friend with them too!

+ Create a Facebook Event for your trunk show – Facebook makes it so nice and easy to create an event to send to your friends. It’s an easy way to to announce updates, display pictures, and give contact information with out flooding their inboxes.

+ As soon as your trunk arrives, start setting up – Unpack your trunk and take a good look at what you are working with. Review your space and start deciding where you want to display your items. For my bonnets, I gathered a bunch of candlesticks from around the house and displayed several of the bonnets on those. I also used yarn and small laundry clips from the $1 section of Target to hang the rest of them. Use command hooks to hang the string. I also used this easy laundry rope to hang clothes on the bottom row.

+ Review all the details and instructions from the company- Make sure you review all the details from the company whether they are included in the trunk or if they were sent to you before you received the trunk via email. You want to make sure you check out your guests properly and have a good understanding of the products you are selling.

+ Refreshments – I think it’s really nice to have some snacks and refreshments set out for your guests. Since I knew there was a good chance that some children might be coming with their Mom’s to my show, I wanted to make sure I had a few things for the kids too. I decided to make a fun festive pink alcoholic drink to go along with the summer feel of my party. Everyone has a lot more fun when they can “sip and shop.”

+ Have fun – Use the trunk show as a fun excuse to socialize with friends and an opportunity to meet a few new people. Try not to stress and just enjoy yourself!

+ Thank You Note Follow-Up – It’s always nice to send a quick note or e-mail to follow up with your guests and tell them that you appreciate them coming by the show. I think those always go a long way!

+ Fresh flowers around the house are always a nice touch for any type of party!

+ An extra bonus for the show is if you have a really cute model to show off all your items

You girls know how much I love me some baby clothes, don’t you??

So it probably doesn’t surprise you when I tell you that I decided to host my first trunk show this year.

Enter: The Beaufort Bonnet Company

This company was founded in 2012 by a Mother of two who was gifted a beautiful baby bonnet from a boutique in Beaufort, SC. This Louisville, Kentucky Mother instantly fell in love with the baby bonnet and started her dream of crafting an entire line of the highest quality children’s products in timeless styles. The company’s hallmark bonnet is based on a generations-old heirloom pattern from the coastal town of Beaufort, South Carolina; so despite being located in Kentucky, the company will always pay homage to Beaufort.

The line has added many beautiful styles outside the bonnets for both girls and boys and I can’t wait to show all of them to you. They are continually expanding the line with new gift ideas and a brand new pajama line that is to die for.

I rounded up a bunch of items from the new Spring 2016 collection so you can get an idea of what the brand has to offer.

Brody has more Christmas pajamas than I should ever admit too (maybe enough for each day of the month in December {JK}) and several for each of the other holidays as well!! There are several different places I like to look. Old Navy and Gap always have great choices and run awesome promos all the time. Hannah Anderson’s are pricey but truly last and are the softest organic cotton. I also love to buy holiday jammies from some of the online auction sites like Smocked Auctions and Southern Tots. You can always find some baby pajamas at Target too. I gathered up a few of my favorites this year and shared a little Halloween photo shoot of the kids for you!

Thoughts for Thursday | Dressing Your Baby Boy

Welcome to another Thoughts for Thursday link-up. Today I’m talking all about dressing your baby (or toddler) boy. I’ve done several post in the past that you can find here that shares some of Brody’s fashion over the last (almost) two years. I want to share some of my thoughts today on dressing a little boy as well as debunking the stereotype that it’s not as much fun to dress a boy as it is a girl!! That really can not be further from the truth.

Since finding out last week that we are having a baby girl next, it’s made me reflect a lot on how much fun it’s been having a little boy. Of course I am ecstatic to have a little girl, but my time so far with Brody has truly been incredible. I’ve learned so much about him and the innate characteristics that little boys are born with and what truly makes men and woman so different. We are wired differently from the get-go. But that’s a topic for an entire post of it’s own!

Anyway, here are my feelings on dressing a little boy…

+ I get lots of sweet comments from all of you about how cute Brody is dressed. I truly appreciate each one. It’s amazing the amount of joy it brings me to shop and dress my little man.

+ Brody is approaching two and his “baby” stage is starting to come to an end. His days of wearing bubbles are pretty much over which makes me shed a tear or two and we are becoming a little more limited on our selection of “one pieces.”

+ When I see other little boys dressed in frilly/lace outfits, I usually wonder if the father of the son puts up a fight over those outfits or not?? You want to know why? Because my husband has been known to give grief over a few of Brody’s outfits. I really tried to have a balance of clothes that weren’t too over-the-top that I knew he would hate, but still get my way with some beautiful traditional day gowns and outfits.

+ Below were some of Brody’s newborn day gowns that Matt didn’t quite understand at first; but once he realized the practicality of them when we were changing 18 diapers a day, he came around ~~a little~~.

+ Kissy Kissy (and Paty) gowns were truly my favorites. They are so darn soft and still super practical. They can take you from day to night and they even convert from gown into romper with a few little snaps.

+ If you live in the South, any baby boutique will sell plenty of options for smocked clothes, bubbles and day gowns. I found most of mine from stores in New Orleans, Fairhope, and here in Pensacola.

+ We had a couple hand-me-downs, but not many. I have two brothers and my Mom saved all of our beautiful clothes from when we were babies. Unfortunately, every single one of them were lost in hurricane Ivan back in 2004. It makes me so sad to think about. I would have loved to seen Brody in some of them and even more so seen our new baby girl in some of my childhood dresses. But, they’re gone

+ Matt called this type of outfit below, Pilgrim collars. He was not a fan at all!! I love the big collars and probably would have had many more if he didn’t whine about them so much.

+ Bubbles are seriously my fave. There is really nothing cuter than baby rolls hanging out in all their glory. Rolls have never looked so good before….

+ These little Feltman Brothers Bobby Suits are a timeless, classic. They will be saved as a family heirloom and treasured forever. Matt can’t even fight me that Brody doesn’t look like a sharp dressed man

+ Sorry for the excess of photos, but I had so much fun going through all my photos. I definitely recognized the fact that I did a terrible job of pulling out my nice camera the first 3 months of Brody’s life. That will definitely change for baby number two!! I vow to take great photos and not snap everything on my iPhone!!

+ Tell me, does anyone else’s husband fight you on the clothes that you dress your baby in?? Thank goodness I’m the one that dresses our baby every.single.day, so I’ll dress him in whatever the heck I want to Make sure you always win this battle ladies. As I tell Matt, Brody has the rest of his life to wear khaki’s and button down shirts. I’m going to dress him like a baby for the few short years he is a baby!!!

Thoughts for Thursday : Shopping for the Baby or Toddler

Sorry friends! I’m not sure how this post went a day early. Poor scheduling on my part Happy Thoughts for Thursday!

I wanted to do a little round-up today of some small businesses that I love to shop at for gifts and for my son, Brody. There are so many talented people out there that seriously have the most adorable products. It’s too easy to go hog-wild. I love it all!

The truth is that I have a difficult time dressing Brody for the winter months. I want comfortable, cute and functional for him. If you’ve been around for awhile, you know I’m a complete sucker for all things smocked and preppy for the little man. It’s really easy to do when it’s warm out. However, with this colder weather; I have a little tougher time picking out his outfits. I’ve really become a bit obsessed with little boy leggings. I’m interested to see what Brody’s wardrobe is going to look like this winter. Here are a few places I’ve shopped or plan to shop:

Boco Baby
I’ve been recently introduced to this store and I’m OBSESSED! They make the cutest personalized items for baby/toddler girls and boys and have the most festive leggings for the holidays. They make for wonderful baby shower or birthday gifts too!!

Willow Crowns
My friend, Stephanie, has recently joined Megan at Willow Crowns. They have the most precious and delicate headbands for sweet girls that my ovaries turn every time I see a picture. I’m so happy they have launched their winter collection which includes a Mama and mini for the little boys.

Sweetest Thing Leggings
I love this shop for their precious leggings. I feel like Brody channels his inner rockstar when he gets to sport these. He always get compliments!

The Line by Ale Mulcahy
We are taking Brody to the mountains next month and I feel certain he needs a pair of moose or deer leggings to wear out there. How cute are these??

Jennifer Ann

I can pretty much guarantee whenever I announce a new baby to the family (no, I’m not pregnant now), that I will do it with a pair of these precious Big Brother leggings. They have some fabulous personalized accessories as well. Blankets, headbands, lovies, diaper covers, and more!

Palmetto Princess Boutique

And lastly, I love these gingham pants on Brody. They are comfortable, warm, and come in lots of cute colors. I’m truly not ready to put my son in uncomfortable jeans (although he does own a pair now) and these pants are a great alternative. She also has some great smocked outfits and cute appliqué tops.

Mid Week Muse | Fall Clothes for Baby Boys + Pumpkin Pickin’

We ended up making it to pick out some pumpkins after all!! We decided to reschedule our trip to Monday since we were rained out on Sunday afternoon. Honestly, we didn’t go to an actual pumpkin patch. We went to our local, Bailey’s Farmers Market, and just took some picture of the kids sitting and playing with the pumpkins for sale.

My friend Courtney and I laughed because we had this vision of the kids just sitting and smiling perfectly for us around the pumpkins and us shooting a few cute photos of them. That’s not at all how it went. They were all over the place and wouldn’t sit still and we never got one picture of the two of them together because they were always moving! No worries. Mid Week Muse : First Birthday Wardrobe

Keeping it brief today as I am busy getting everything together for the first birthday party this weekend!!! But for today’s Mid Week Muse, I thought I would share what Brody and I plan on wearing for the big day!!

I found my cute dress at J. Crew and again, I love it because it’s a great length and will be cute and comfortable for chasing around the young kids! For Brody, I actually bought his outfit months ago on Zulily and it looks similar to the one below but it’s a bubble instead of a Jon Jon. We have a cute swimsuit for him to wear too since we will have a little pool for the kids to play in!!

I can’t wait for the big and for our little mini celebration with family on Friday for his actual birthday!
