So Miller was waking up dry pretty much all the time so I decided to ditch pull ups shortly after Xmas, well then he randomly had two accidents in the middle of the night :( So I put him back in pull ups but we had a long talk about going in the potty not your pull up if you're awake so now he wakes up in the middle of the night to go, not my favorite thing because he still calls for us but he's definitely learning. He's still in the pull up but I think we can transition back to underwear at night soon. I agree that it could be laziness. Any morning I leave him in the pull up too long, if we're having a lazy morning, he will soak that thing because he's too busy playing or watching a show. I know it's laziness too because if I put him straight in underwear when he wakes up he doesn't have accidents. It's a tough one!! Glad to hear Madelyn is doing well, we just moved Matthew to a toddler bed and he's doing so much better than I expected. I think he could of stayed in his crib longer if I let him but since he's almost 2.5 we decided to just give it a try and it worked. I'm feeling so sad to not have any babies in cribs anymore :(

Try the two sheet trick! Our son was potty trained before 3 but still had occasional accidents. make sure he pees before nap/bed time. No water beside the bed or with him. In his bed we have the waterproof sheet then his bed sheet another waterproof sheet and another bed sheet because with 2 more kids under 3 mama has NO time for changing the bed in the middle of the night. This way if he does have an accident, I just rip up 1 layer and he's good to go!

Agee with others.. if he isn't dry then he's not physically ready .. it's not likely being lazy. My son is 4.5 and still soaked in the morning with pull-ups . I think he wants to wear underwear but he's such a deep sleeper his mind and body aren't making the connection at night to go to the potty. This isn't forever... just let himself get ready or you will be changing a lot of sheets like I did before I realized that.

From my experience with my son, he was not ready for underwear until the pull up was dry. My son took MUCH longer than at this potty/sleep thing than my daughter. She was 48 hours and done. Not so much with my boy!

Ahhh that's good stuff!! I don't love the idea of having to wake up multiple times a night (ha), but I get that it would only be short term too!

I agree with you! That's what I've been worried about...him being lazy and just peeing in his pull up because its easy. I feel like he definitely knows the difference and he would probably hold it if he knew he was in underwear.

Yes, I agree about nighttime drinks. I need to control that a little better. That's amazing that your daughter was potty trained at 17 months!! What a treat :)
