Brody is FIVE

Happy 5th Birthday Brody Man!!!

I can’t believe it’s been five years since I gave birth to my first baby! I just re-read his birth story and it gives me all the feels. I had a wonderful delivery with him, but just a couple hours after he was born, we were notified he would have to be admitted into the NICU. It was such a whirlwind and so scary for us. Thankfully, after running several tests and monitoring, all turned out perfectly fine. Basically, he had trouble transiting to the real world and had low oxygen levels. He lost coloring and became dusky looking when they gave him a bath after birth! It was a crazy experience, but so thankful he was okay!

Five feels like such a big number, I guess because in a lot of cases it means you are a big Kindergartner and you start big kid school! You graduated from Pre-K this year and will be attending a half-day Kindergarten in the Fall. I’m happy to let you slowly transition into Elementary school since you are young for your grade. You are about to come a big Brother again in a couple of months which is hard to believe. You are such an amazing big brother to Madelyn, I have no doubt you will love your new baby sister.

You love to play outside, be at the beach, ride the waves, play soccer, and recently tried your hand at tennis! You loved your first tennis camp and it made Mama so happy. Your favorite toys are Transformers, Paw Patrol, building with Magnatiles, and playing Star Wars. You love to swim and have mastered that this year and boogie boarding with your Daddy is your new favorite hobby. Oh, fishing too!! You have become quite the little fisherman catching lots of fish off of our new dock!

Y0u talk like a little man, love writing your name and seem to be interested in learning new things. You have a big heart Brody man and I hope it stays that way forever! We love you to the moon and back!
