Madelyn’s 7th Birthday Trip to Atlanta

I am finally recapping Madelyn’s birthday weekend that we took to Atlanta with friends!  Madelyn has been loving all things “spa” lately, so when she decided she wanted to take a trip for her birthday instead of having a party this year (last year we went to Nashville to the AG store); I decided it would be fun to make it spa-themed!

This trip was a little bit of a dual-trip.  The boys were actually on the trip too and had a boys weekend to attend the Saints vs Falcons football game.  The boys were so excited.  So we did a few things with the boys and then a few things separate! I snagged this cute editable itinerary off of Etsy and used that to schedule our weekend.

We booked rooms at the Hotel Colee in Buckhead which was a great location to everything.  It had a really fun, funky vibe with a restaurant, bar and wonderful customer service.  We never made it up to the rooftop this trip, but they have a really fun bar with a great rooftop upstairs called Whiskey Blue’s and a rooftop pool!

Friday

We got to Atlanta in time for a late lunch after we checked into our hotel. We walked across the street from the hotel and had lunch at Del Frisco’s.  There is also a Maggiano’s right across the street from hotel.

We were supposed to have lunch at Le Colonial but we didn’t make our reservation in time!  I have heard great things, so we will have to try that the next time we are there.

For dinner Friday night, we had reservations at a Virtual Top Golf spot up by the new Atlanta Braves stadium.  None of us had seen the new Truist stadium and all the shops/restaurants around the area, so we were excited to check it out.  We didn’t really know what to expect at the virtual top golf experience.  It was pretty cool for the kids.  They had several different sports options they could choose from to play and the food was mostly just bar food.

When we got home from dinner, the girls got all cuddly in their matching jammies and spa goodies.  I made these fun spa gift baskets for the girls to enjoy during our stay.  I love the way they turned out.

When we got home that evening, I went to the front desk to see if there was any chance they had any cucumbers and they were so sweet and made a platter of sliced cucumbers for the girls and delivered them to our room.  They thought they were so cute!

Saturday

Saturday was girls day!  We had fun things scheduled all day to pamper the little girls.  We started with nails at Le Main and Madelyn was so excited because I let her get gel nails for the first time.  After nails, we went to their hair appointment at Blo Out Hair Bar.

Our friends brought the girls the cutest hair fascinators, so they brought those to their hair appointment and they were perfect for our fancy, girly lunch reservation that we had at Swan Coach House!

We headed to Swan Coach house for lunch and it is just one of these great iconic, girly restaurants.  You always see large parties of woman for bridal showers, baby showers or any other reason to get a group of ladies to dine.  So we knew we had to lunch here. They have a really cute gift shop too!

After lunch, we had a few hours to go shopping and walk around.  We went back over to the shopping plaza that our nails were at that morning and hit up House of Wallace and Weezie Towels.  We also took the girls to Sephora.  They were dying to go to Sephora to look at make up and hope that they could get a quick little makeover themselves by one of the employees.

That night, we had dinner reservations at KR Steak Bar and I can’t recommend this spot enough!  Thank you Amity for the recommendation 🙂 Everything we had was sooo delicious.  It was on the fancy side, so we prepared the girls and they did AWESOME!  They got some delicious pasta and the Mamas enjoyed a nice martini and some wine!

We headed back to the hotels and met up with the boys to watch a little football and chill out! The girls were happy to dig into their spa bags again and relax.

Sunday

On Sunday, the boys left to go to the football stadium to watch the Saints and Falcons play and the girls went to brunch at Le Biblioquet  in Buckhead Village.  This area was all so new to me and it was so pretty with so many nice shops.  There was an area where the girls could hang out and run around just off of this nice patio we were brunching on.  And how about that gorgeous flower wall???

We loved having Amity come meet us to say hello!

We had hoped to go to the St. Regis Sunday afternoon for the high tea but apparently they had been under renovations and they had to cancel the high teas for awhile.  Instead, we walked around Phipps mall for a little bit and took the girls to Legoland there but sadly it was also closed.  At least they had the store open and they were able to pick out a little brick head to enjoy while we watched some of the Saints game on TV 🙂

It was so fun to be back in Atlanta for the weekend.  There was certainly a lot we didn’t get to hit, but lots of fun things we did!  It just gives us an excuse to go back soon!
