Molly’s Fishy Fourth Birthday Party

Molly’s 4th birthday was one for the books.  The truth is, Molly had never had a birthday party of her own yet and I felt pretty bad about that.  I knew this was the year that I wanted to give her a party and since her birthday was in August, a pool party still seemed like a fun, easy party to throw.   She wanted a girl party and had made some precious girlfriends from her class last year and through some of her sports, so we had a fun group of her friends and family to celebrate with her.

Early in the summer, I had picked up these swimsuits for all three of my kids and I decided they would make the cutest theme for a party this summer.  I emailed my girls at Nico & Lala and asked if they could put something spectacular together for me for an invitation and swag for Molly’s party and they came through as always. You can see all the goodies below and this year I decided to add a fun large sign which I’ve never done before and used it displayed on an inexpensive easel from Amazon.

Balloons always make the party more festive, so I called in Chelsi from Blushing Balloons to help add some pizzaz to the party with her amazing balloon garlands and then added a fun twist this year with a cotton candy stand.  Whim cotton candy had to be the hit of the party. The kids went wild over this cotton candy and it was a cute addition to the party.  We also called in Cloud Bounce to add a white bounce house for the kids to provide a little more entertainment outside the pool.

I served food from Water Pig on Pensacola Beach and had coolers out with drinks for the kids and the adults.  I made a delicious margarita that I’ve now served at two parties (the last one at our tennis luncheon) and need to share this recipe for ya’ll!  I set out a couple of extra tables and chairs for kids and adults to have some more seating.  Matt and I have invested in some folding tables and chairs (I also love these) over the years to use at parties and it is so nice having our own to use now. I also invested in some of these kids chivari chairs that are so cute and great for these parties.

My friend Katie shared the cutest idea for beach/pool party favors recently and I had to use it!  These Turkish towels are great, amazing price and shipped so quick.  Add a pretty ribbon, a cute Lolli pop and some of these sunnies for the kids and you have yourself a precious takeaway for your guests.
