A separate place with sun loungers or comfortable chairs is nice to have for relaxing. Then, you can create another area with a table and dining chairs for sharing meals together outside.

Summer is the season of more daylight, but it always helps to have lighting sprinkled around your patio when the sun finally does go down. It also allows you to spend more time outside on those surprisingly nice days in fall and winter. Plus, nothing adds ambiance like a beautiful light fixture!
I think a mixture of lighting options is best. For instance, you’ll want pendant or table lights for dining areas on your patio, string lights around pergolas, sconces for walls, and lanterns or accent lights for seating areas.

If you’re feeling a little frustrated with a boring or basic patio, my best tip is to bring in elements that show your personal style. Patio decor pulls everything together and easily turns a standard patio into a beautiful one.
I reflected similar themes I had in my home out onto my patio and backyard area, which makes it all feel so much more cohesive. It helps to define your tastes in decor, too. For my home, white is the primary color within my outdoor palette with touches of blue. It feels coastal, serene, and classic. Together, this creates a scheme that I won’t get sick of after some time.
