Scenes From Our Week | Birthday + Mardi Gras

Phew, it’s been a whirlwind of a few weeks around here!! February was a busy month for us celebrating birthdays, holidays and a quick vacation to Las Vegas.  I still owe ya’ll a recap from our Vegas weekend which was so much fun, but I haven’t had an hour long enough to get it done!

We got home from Vegas and then continued on with even more birthday celebrations.  Did I mention that we went to Vegas to celebrate my hubby’s 50th birthday??? So crazy and we had the best time.

So when we got home, I surprised Matt with these awesome yard signs from Pensacola Sign Gypsies and then we planned a dinner out with a bunch of our friends from Pensacola.

I also had a super fun girls lunch planned to celebrate two birthdays too!! You guys know Emily Ley and also our friend Forrest.  It made for a super crazy, fun day because we went from lunch (at Jackson’s) to dinner for Matt’s birthday (at Jacksons’s).

On Friday, we had a night parade for Mardi Gras just by our house.  We had some friends come over, threw the kids in strollers, and walked to see the parade.

Molly was a trooper. That was the first time we really kept her out late!

Madelyn fell asleep sitting up.  She was pooped.

But not before she was given the biggest duck ever!

Saturday was another full day of Mardi Gras.  We ride a float every year with Adams Homes.  We took the big kids for a bit to walk the line up of all the floats for the parade and play outside for awhile.  It was super warm this year for Mardi Gras and we were hot in our long sleeves.

They had a photo of my Dad on the float this year. It was so cool.  My Dad passed away 5 years ago and we always honor him every year at Mardi Gras.  This was one of his very favorite days every year.

Sunday we went out to breakfast, the boys went to run some errands and headed to a Nerf gun party and then we all went to a friends house for another little birthday celebration!

It was a week full of fun (a month full of fun), but I’m looking forward to slowing things down a bit and hopefully enjoying some warm Spring weather!!!
