Molly's Camp Watercolor 8th Birthday

Molly chose a weekend in Watercolor with friends this year for her birthday and if you have been around here a little while then you know that I always jump on an experience birthday if I get the opportunity. In Watercolor, they have a fun club with pools and slides called Camp Watercolor that we love to go to plus we love the movie the Parent Trap; so we took those two things and ran with the theme “Camp Molly”!

Since the girls are only 8 and we wanted to make a weekend of it, we decided it would be fun to try and invite the girls plus their Mamas to have a fun weekend together. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work out because it meant everyone leaving the rest of their families, but it absolutely did and we all had a blast.

I started by downloading these cute Parent Trap theme invitations off of Etsy and then customizing them on Canva. I used the backside of the invite to customize a little itinerary to go off of for the weekend.

I contacted Mingle 30A down in Seaside to see if they could put together some balloons for our birthday girl. I sent them our “Camp Molly” invitation and told them to do their best to match that and they nailed it!

Since we had this great bunk room loft area in the house and I only needed a few extra beds for the girls, I decided to just order my own tents and mattresses off Amazon to bring for the weekend rather than hire someone to do tents. I then just ordered these little pillow and blanket sets that came with spa kits too for the girls to enjoy for the weekend. It worked out super cute.

I made some fun “camp bags” for each of the girls when they arrived. I had so much fun putting together some of the goodies. I found the bags on Etsy that they personalized for me and then added in these adorable Roller Rabbit look-a-like jammies for each of the girls and then found these customizable camp shirts from Etsy that were adorable. I added in some green butterfly shorts for each of the girls to wear with their shirts and tied a cute bandana to each of the bags. I was supposed to add a lizard to each of those Evian bottles to mimic the scene in the Parent Trap and then added those cute fruit cartons filled with Oreos and Peanut Butter (another Parent Trap fave). The Oreos and PB were a hit with our girls too! I added these cute little Thank You for coming tags to each as well.

As everyone arrived on Friday night, we settled in the house and Molly had asked all the girls to bring their favorite sequins to wear out on the town. That was so funny because we were just keeping things casual, but it turned out cute. We rode up to the Seaside circle and the girls had to stop in their favorite toy store, Duckies, to look for squishies and then we headed to dinner at the Pizza bar below Bud and Alleys. It worked out great because we were able to snag a couple of tables and the food came out quickly. They were playing a movie outside on the lawn at the Seaside green and we hung for a bit and then headed home.

We brought all kinds of fun activities down for the girls to do throughout the weekend. We had bead making kits, indoor s’mores, opened birthday presents, made bead keychains, had parent trip themed scavenger hunts and even parent trap bingo cards!

The older sisters were our designated “camp counselors” and they made sure these little girls had tons of fun and were never bored!

Saturday was our only full day and we headed to Camp Watercolor where the girls swam, enjoyed the slides, ate lunch and floated down the lazy river. Once everyone was worn out, we headed back home to get ready for one last fun hoorah!

The girls put on their matching camp uniforms and we got ready for Mr. Hibachi at Home. He came right to our house and brought the tables and chairs to set up outside by the pool. We had brought some cute decor to set the tables and did that while he was setting up his grill.

Sunday it was time to pack up and check out of the house. We drove down to Alys Beach and grabbed coffee from Fonville press, walked in a few shops and had lunch at George’s before we all said goodbye and headed home!!!

I couldn’t have pulled all the extra things off on this weekend without the help of the BEST nanny ever! She’s been back at school in Auburn this month, but drove down to join us in Watercolor for the weekend and helped set up the whole house for us!

Molly is my third baby and often times it’s harder with that third kid to make things special and make things all about them. They are so used to being dragged along to everything for their big siblings that they don’t always get to do things all about them. So this weekend was extra special to make it all about her and her friends and I loved every minute!
